I can't think of a title

Tuesday 7th November, 2006 (David G)

It’s that annoying month where I have to take down the Halloween style (which I always do late) and then a couple of weeks later put up the Christmas style. This is why I don’t do easter.

Well, one thing we missed recently (ish) was Areyougoingtoeatthat’s third birthday. This year has been less about innovation and creativity on the site and more a constant battle with idiots who want to advertise on it by putting up their own links. I’ve been slowly closing the doors on them but it’s hard tell how successful it’s been. Did they stop trying or are the measures working? Who knows.

The most frustrating thing about it all is how useless their attempts are. I think this site has about two dozen regular users. I know most of you. I know you well enough to suggest you are not the sort of people to increase the size of your penises or request a mortgage via a dodgy link on the internet. So I guess these devious people are wasting their own time as much as mine.

Rant over.

Life is slowly returning to normal after the wedding. Yeah, I know that was a long time ago but since then Sarah and I have been busy as bees. We’re just trying to get back into a rhythm at the moment. We spent last weekend at home just mooching around the house. It was brilliant and the first time we’ve relaxed in months. It’s just nice to know that sometimes the things that are happening this week are the same as the things that happened last week. Thursday night with the boys and Tuesday night is rehearsals, then maybe something different at the weekend. It might sound a little boring but it is strangely comforting.

Talking of rehearsals, Hawkweasel has some more gig dates coming up. We are playing at the Cross-in-hand on the 19th November (the day after Dawn’s party) at about 8pm. Then we have our regular New Years gig at the Five Ashes pub on New Years Eve. Not got plans yet? Come and see us. We put up a poster in the pub and asked people to request songs. Unfortunately for us, people did. Loads of people. We’ve had to trim down the list a little and ignore some of the Rolling Stones songs (of which there were about half a dozen). So there’s always something new. We must have over 80 songs on our books these days, that’s more than some MP3 players!

If you have any requests of songs you’d like to hear, feel free to put them on the website and we will consider them. No promises but if they’re easy they might make it in.

Thanks Rob. We got better when we warmed up a bit. The second set was a little better. Thanks for coming along, it was nice to have the support.

Hope everyone's managing to stay dry - just seen Uckfield on the BBC 6pm News - under water.

Chore Wars
Chore wars is possibly the greatest and nerdiest concept I have heard of in a very very long time. In effect this is a chore or domestic task management tool that awards you Experience points for each task you complete. Giving your nerd a real chance to see how he is levelling up in those bathroom cleaning skills. Im tempted. I really really am. Debbie, see if you can get Brian addicted to this instead of WoW!

Win a very cool car stereo
Hello all - long time no blog!! I have just launched an online competition for one of my clients where you can win the very latest iPod Digital Media Receiver. Click the link to the homepage then click on the game banner - the highest score wins (which is around 360 right now). Give it a go and tell all your friends and their friends.
