The more observant of you will have noticed that pretty much every day now there are ads being placed in the shoutbox. I'm doing my best to delete them when they appear and then try and block them from doing it again but short of putting a username and password style security for the shoutbox there's only so much I can do. Chances are that it is a spambot of some sort that is designed to find such functionality and spam it with ads. I'll continue to delete them but I'm doubt they'll ever give up.
In the meantime, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS! I don't expect that they are hoping you'd buy the product. More likely they are trying to increase the number of references to those sites around the internet to increase their search ratings on pages like Google. Regardless, just don't click on them. I'm going to keep trying to lock it down but I spend about ten minutes a week doing it and they're doing it full time.
I'd hate to put security on the shoutbox because it would undoubtedly reduce the number of people posting dramatically. People just don't like having to enter details just to put a post on. We'll have to see.

Chore wars is possibly the greatest and nerdiest concept I have heard of in a very very long time. In effect this is a chore or domestic task management tool that awards you Experience points for each task you complete. Giving your nerd a real chance to see how he is levelling up in those bathroom cleaning skills. Im tempted. I really really am. Debbie, see if you can get Brian addicted to this instead of WoW!
