29+1
Tuesday 12th December, 2006 (David G)
I know the cartoon makes it seem like I'm taking it hard but actually I'm really looking forward to the weekend. 30 doesn't mean a lot more than 29 to me. It's the end of my 20's, sure, but I'm a computer programmer and we work in hexidecimal. My true age is in fact '1E'. I'm not even out of my teens! DAMN YOU BASE 10!!
The plan as it stands is to meet at Just So at 7:30 and drink and then later head back to the Messages for further fun. It's been a successful plan in the past so let's try not to reinvent the wheel here. I'm going to avoid the dinner thing as people rapidly get full and sleepy and then it's all over. Presents are unnecessary, just say I look pretty.
In other news, I got an email today from Friendsreunited.com. It was from John Manners, my primary school headmaster. He congratulated me on getting married, which was nice of him. Of course, when you get a message on FR you don't get the reply email address. Instead you have to pay £7.50 (it's gone up) to reply. That's where you guys come in. Does anyone have John Manners's's email address? Come on people, save me £7.50!
Finally, it's harvest time for the Amazon link. Thanks to everyone who has been using it. Currently we stand to add £30 to the prize fund, which is pretty darned good. That'll fund at least two sparsely entered competitions in the new year.
Finally, finally, don't forget that if you are stuck for a New Year's activity, you can always come to see Hawkweasel at the Five Ashes pub which is, spookily, in Five Ashes.
That's all, go about your business.

19/07/2007 16:37:12Chore Wars
Chore wars is possibly the greatest and nerdiest concept I have heard of in a very very long time. In effect this is a chore or domestic task management tool that awards you Experience points for each task you complete. Giving your nerd a real chance to see how he is levelling up in those bathroom cleaning skills. Im tempted. I really really am. Debbie, see if you can get Brian addicted to this instead of WoW!

Hello all - long time no blog!! I have just launched an online competition for one of my clients where you can win the very latest iPod Digital Media Receiver. Click the link to the homepage then click on the game banner - the highest score wins (which is around 360 right now). Give it a go and tell all your friends and their friends.
